 This Is The  History of our Slot Car Drag Racing

A few years ago Alfred built a 1/43 Drag strip to scale 1/8 mile strip. Everything about the track is built and scaled down from the 1/1 drag racing. All rules, race procedures, and points awarding are all done like the 1/1 racing. Originally the timing system was built from stop watches but was later changed to DS racing products. When Alfred built all the photo sensors for the win lights and staging he did not have a clue what to do. But having Drag raced for over thirty years he knew how everything was suppose to work. With several trips to the local Radio Shack and researching data from the internet he began to build and burn up parts until the track was working perfectly. He would tell you that he is no electrical genius but because of the desire to try, and being taught that one can do anything if they try; Alfred did just that and his trying was rewarded with a track that has been working for the last seven years.  

Alfred has five classes that he runs at his track, which are named after the IHRA sanction body. The four heads up bracket classes are Hot Rod (1.50 index) Super Rod (1.25 index) Quick Rod (1.00 index) Top Sportsman (.0750 index)  We also have Pro Mod quick eight which is a open rules on motor size and weight . The cars are to be door slammer style cars and must look the part, and must meet the general rules of the track.  All competitors have to qualify for a 8 car field.

We are proud to announce that two of SIDE's original bodies were selected as the spec body to be raced for the HRW Dirt Car Series beginning in February.
